Scott Point Residents Group

Calling all Scott Point residents — we are forming a Scott Point Residents Group to provide a strong, unified voice for our community.

A key focus is the second access road, but with scope for this group to also address other issues and opportunities that impact Scott Point, and to build stronger community connection over time.

If you are willing to be a member of the proposed advocacy group or otherwise assist, or because you may be affected and seek further information, please click on the link below.

Scott Point Second Access Squadron Road Extension

Following the public meeting held at Scott Point School on 7 April 2026, it was suggested that the most viable option for improving local access may be to investigate a potential extension of Squadron Road via Council-owned land. This was raised as an alternative to waiting on the privately owned Joshua Carder Drive development, which has recently received a two-year resource consent extension.

Councillor John Watson also encouraged residents to consider forming a group to help understand the options and advocate for the best way forward. A united community voice will be important in ensuring local perspectives are clearly represented as these matters are explored.

To date there have been three separate presentations given to the Upper Harbour Local Board regarding this issue. Click the links below to read these presentations.

- Have Your Say Now

Connected Neighbourhoods Trust are looking to upgrade the old derelict shed on the edge of Te Kori Scott Point (the sustainable park) into a multipurpose youth and community hub (directly opposite rear of Scott Point School).

We are seeking your feedback through our survey. Have your say on your ideas for the hub, what you think community needs are, and how you think it could be used.
